Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANASTASIOS (ERNIE) MIKOS It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Anastasios Mikos on December 28, 2007 at Grace General Hospital. He leaves to mourn, his wife of almost 66 years, Athanasia; his children, Nick (Katina), Steve (Voula) and Jennie (Peter), eight grandchildren, his brother Pete (Maria), many nieces and nephews and relatives in both Greece and Canada. Anastasios was predeceased by his parents, Stefanos and Ioanna; his brothers, Ilias, Nikolaos, Apostolos and Christos (Pareskevi). Anastasios was born in Laggadia, Greece on March 20, 1922 and moved to Scoura with his wife in 1942. After working hard as a mason, he immigrated to Winnipeg in January 1961 to start a better life for his family and became a long standing member of the Greek Community of Winnipeg. He worked in construction and then Motor Coach Industries until his retirement in 1987. Prayers will be held on December 30 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Avenue. The Funeral will be held at the same location on December 31 at 11:00 a.m., followed by the interment in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ernie Mikos, Greg Douklias, Valandi Mikos, Taso Douklias, Chris Mikos and Peter Routsis. The family would like to thank the staff at West Park Manor and Grace General Hospital for their exceptionally professional and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the memory of Anastasios to the Manitoba Hellenic Cultural Centre. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO.
